Folding Chair

An absolute icon in the world of folding chairs, designed by Fenby around 1855 and patented in 1877. Used during the British military campaigns, it is an all-practical, no-frills piece with an unusual aesthetic. This “modern” spirit is the result of two precise requirements: lightness and sturdiness.

Design , 1855

A different version for use in the home, named Tripolina, was produced throughout the 1930s in Italy. It features a three-dimensional, folding, wooden frame, with seat in fabric and leather, secured in four points rather than the original three. Citterio has produced it since the sixties.
