The prototype was made for Genoa’s Teatro Carlo Felice, rebuilt by Aldo Rossi, Aldo Gardella and Fabio Reinhart (1983-89). Molteni&C with Luca Meda designed the interior decoration and furnishings of the rooms and common spaces. For the stalls a fixed tip-up seat was produced, made of carved walnut. It was to be padded and upholstered in pale blue cloth.

Building the theater; I found all the historical examples in the Po valley and they blend and overlap each other like opera music at local fêtes: Parma, Padua, Pavia, Piacenza, Reggio and then Venice, Milan and all the provincial capitals where the theater switches on its lights in the persistent fog. The same fog that penetrates, like the effect of a theatrical machine, in the Milanese Vittorio Emanuele II Gallery.
